When flat rate tasks are created in ESC the name of each of the six different levels of pricing is assigned a name. This name cannot be changed from within the ESC software. This article will show you how to change those using another method.
Details:
- On your server, download the attached batch files: Rename Flat Rate Price Headings.bat & Restore Original Flat Rate Price Headings.bat.
- Right-click and select Edit on the one entitled Rename Flat Rate Price Headings.bat. Change the words No S/A, No S/A ADD, S/A, S/A ADD, OT, and OT ADD to be the headings you want to use.
- Save the batch file.
- Backup your database in ESC.
- On the server, run the Rename Flat Rate Price Headings.bat file. This will change the headings of all the flat rate tasks.
While this works well, it does cause an issue when you go to update your prices using the Update Inventory Flat Rate Pricing option from the Inventory pull-down menu. This feature relies on the headings of the flat rate tasks staying the same. Use this procedure every time you need to run this utility:
- Edit the batch file entitled Restore Original Flat Rate Price Headings.bat. Change the words No S/A, No S/A ADD, S/A, S/A ADD, OT, and OT ADD to be the headings you used in the first batch file.
- Save the batch file.
- Backup your database in ESC.
- On the server, run the Restore Original Flat Rate Price Headings.bat file. This will change the headings of all the flat rate tasks back to their original defaults.
- Run the Update Inventory Flat Rate Pricing option from within ESC to update your prices.
- On the server, run the Rename Flat Rate Price Headings.bat file. This will change the headings of all the flat rate tasks back to your preferred settings.
Note: This only works if the flat rate parts were created in ESC. It does not work if the flat rate parts were imported from another vendor.
