1001 - Source ESC Connections Server already exists on the local computer

Description of Error:

When attempting to install the ESC Connections Server the following error appears:

Error 1001. Source ESC Connections Server already exists on the local computer.

After clicking OK to the error, the installation rolls back and indicates a failure to install.

Cause of Error:

This error is caused by a previous installation of the ESC Connections Server that was not removed properly.

Resolution:

Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Programs and Features. Locate the ESC Connections Server in your list of programs, right-click on it and select Uninstall. Once the ESC Connections Server has been removed, you may proceed with the installation.

Additional Information:

If for any reason, the ESC Connections Server fails to uninstall properly, a registry cleaner (such as CCleaner) may be used to remove it completely.
