The Payroll Tax Liability Report shows a breakdown of each type of tax that was collected during payroll, which pay period it was collected, amount of tax collected, how much of it has been paid to the government and how much you still have to pay. A very important note here is that when setting up payroll tax items, the “Reporting type” field determines how the tax is shown on the payroll reports. If a dollar amount doesn’t add up properly for the taxes, make sure that the tax item is attached to the correct reporting type option.
