Getting Started with Jobs

Tracking Job Costing is a great way to view the profits earned on larger jobs and projects.  For a basic service stop or emergency repair, tracking time and work on a single dispatch and invoice will suffice.  That invoice can provide you with the revenue, costs and profit earned by helping that customer.  But what happens when you have a large project or order to fulfill that spans multiple invoices - and possibly multiple quotes, dispatches and purchase orders too?  That's where Jobs come in.  

Once a Job has been created in ESC, you can assign that job to all quotes, dispatches, invoices and purchase orders to make sure that everything is being tied together.  Once the project is complete, ESC will be able to provide you with reports based on that job alone so that you can see how profitable it was for your company.
