Cause of Error:
This error is caused by entering in an invalid SMTP or POP3 address into the ESC system setup screen.
Resolution:
To correct the problem, do the following:
- Go to Company → System Setup → Email. In the General tab, be sure to enter in a valid SMTP address, user login and user password. Ensure there are no spaces before or after any of this data (this can easily happen if you are copying and pasting the information).
- On the Addresses tab, be sure to fill in the User Name and User Email Address for the emails.
- If you are using the American Home Shield integration, go to the Integrations tab and select American Home Shield. Make sure the POP3 Server, POP3 User, POP3 Password, Port, and the Use SSL and Use STARTTLS check boxes are configured correctly.
- If you will be emailing information to your technicians go to the Tech Emails tab and be sure to fill in all the fields at the top of the screen and check at least one box below. Then go to the Dispatch → Enter Technicians screen and make sure that all techs have a valid email address.
