Install ESC on your Workstation

Estimated Time: 5 minutes \ workstation

**Note:  The ESC Client download file contains the latest patch of the ESC program.  In order to connect this new workstation with your ESC server, the server computer will first need to be updated to the latest patch of ESC Version 15.

  1. Exit all programs on the computer where you want to install ESC.
  2. Click the button below to download the installation package - ESC Client Only Setup 15.exe. Save the file somewhere you can find it easily.



  3. When the download is complete, start the installation by double-clicking the downloaded file.
  4. Accept all the defaults as you go through the installation wizard. You do not need to do anything during the course of the wizard other than click the Next button and accept the license agreement.
  5. Click the Finish button at the end of the wizard to launch ESC.
  6. Click Cancel if prompted to login and go to File → Open Company.
    1. Use the drop-down to select the Server Name. Generally there will only be one entry in this list but if there are multiples select the one that ends in \ESC.
    2. Leave your Network Library and "Login using Windows Authentication" at their default settings.
    3. Set the User Name to ADMIN or any user already created in your database and enter the password for that account in the Password field (if there is one).
    4. Then select your Database from the drop-down list.
    5. Click OK.

Connect to the Accounting Server (Optional)

Now that you are logged into ESC you will need to tell it how to communicate with your accounting software. This only needs to be done once on each workstation. 

Connect to Sage 50

  1. Click File → Peachtree Connection Wizard.
  2. Enter the name of the server and click Next. For example: Server1, not Server1\ESC.
  3. At this point you should see a message saying, "The Connection to Peachtree was Successful." Click Exit once you do.

Connect to QuickBooks

  1. Click File → QuickBooks Connection Wizard.
  2. Select the version of QuickBooks you are using and click Next.
  3. Select Connect through the Accounting Server, then click Next.
  4. Enter the name of the server and click Next. For example: Server1, not Server1\ESC.
  5. At this point you should see a message saying, "The Connection to QuickBooks was Successful." Click Exit once you do.
